Alarum is an American action crime thriller film that is set to hit theaters on 17 January 2025. Directed by Michael Polish, the movie features a talented cast including Scott Eastwood, Sylvester Stallone, Willa Fitzgerald, Mike Colter, Ísis Valverde, and D. W. Moffett.
The story follows two spies who decide to go rogue to get married. Their plan takes an unexpected turn when their secluded cabin is attacked by various intelligence agencies, all in search of a stolen hard drive. This thrilling premise sets the stage for a combination of action and suspense.
The film is produced by Joel Cohen and Randall Emmett, with cinematography by Jayson Crothers and music composed by Yagmur Kaplan. It was shot in Oxford, Ohio at Hueston Woods State Park, with principal photography starting on 26 February 2024 and concluding on 14 May 2024.
In addition to its U.S. release, the film has also seen international interests, with Signature Entertainment acquiring distribution rights for the U.K. and Ireland in May 2024.
Upon its release, early reviews for Alarum have not been favorable. On the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a rating of 0% with 18 critics’ reviews being negative, giving it an average score of 3.4 out of 10. Critics from various platforms have also been harsh, with one reviewer from RogerEbert.com rating it just one star out of four.
As anticipation builds for its release, fans of action films and the star-studded cast will be eager to see if Alarum can deliver an engaging story against the backdrop of its intriguing premise.
