Boyka is back!
Boyka: Undisputed is an action-packed martial arts film that combines thrilling fight scenes with a deep emotional storyline. Released in the United States on 1 August 2017, it is the fourth installment in the Undisputed series. Directed by Todor Chapkanov, this film continues the journey of Yuri Boyka, played by Scott Adkins.
The movie picks up several months after the events of the previous film, where Boyka, now a free man, finds himself entangled in underground fights in Kyiv, Ukraine. His life takes a dark turn when he accidentally kills his opponent, Viktor, during a match. Stricken with guilt, Boyka embarks on a journey to find Viktor's wife, Alma, seeking redemption for his actions.
Upon arriving in the Russian town of Drovny, Boyka discovers that Alma is under pressure from a crime boss named Zourab. Zourab demands payment for her debts, prompting Boyka to make a deal: he will fight for Zourab in exchange for Alma's freedom. This leads Boyka to compete in a series of intense matches, showcasing his incredible martial arts skills.
Boyka first easily defeats his opponent in the initial match. However, he faces tougher challenges in the following rounds, including two brothers whom he defeats by a double knockout. During this time, he learns about Alma's devotion to the children at the community center where she works, revealing her reluctance to leave despite the danger surrounding her.
In the climax, Boyka faces Koshmar, a massive fighter brought in by Zourab to challenge him. After a fierce battle, Boyka emerges victorious, but Zourab retaliates by taking Alma hostage. In a final showdown, Boyka fights against Zourab's henchmen and ultimately confronts Zourab himself. Despite sustaining injuries, Boyka manages to defeat Zourab, but he is left with the weight of his past actions.
In a poignant moment, Boyka asks Alma for forgiveness for killing Viktor. The film concludes with Boyka imprisoned, still dedicated to his goal of becoming the most complete martial artist in the world. Six months later, Alma visits Boyka in prison, offering him her forgiveness, signifying hope for his redemption.
