Originally titled JTAC, the screenplay was conceived in 2012 while Eubank and Frigerio were working on their film The Signal. They spent time with real-life JTACs and conducted extensive research to bring authenticity to the project. Principal photography took place from September to November 2022 in Gold Coast, Queensland.
