Story
Twins Phoebe and Max are enjoying their superhero lifestyle, but when one 'save' goes awry, the Thundermans are sent back to Hiddenville. While Hank and Barb enjoy their return, and Billy and Nora look forward to a normal high school life, Max and Phoebe are determined to regain their superhero status.
The Thundermans Return is a new family-friendly superhero comedy film set to be released on 7 March 2024 by Nickelodeon. Directed by Trevor Kirschner and written by Jed Spingarn, this film acts as a follow-up to the beloved Nickelodeon series The Thundermans, which originally aired from 2013 to 2018. The film brings back the original cast, including Kira Kosarin as Phoebe Thunderman, Jack Griffo as Max Thunderman, Addison Riecke as Nora, and Diego Velazquez as Billy.
The story takes place three years after the series finale. The Thunderman family, known for their superhero abilities, must save the city of Metroburg after meteors strike. However, their plans for a fun night quickly derail when they face new challenges, including interference from a rival superhero team called the "V-Team." An unexpected mishap with a giant doughnut causes the Thundermans to lose their superhero status due to a strict Hero League rule.
Back in Hiddenville, the Thundermans grapple with adjusting to their new normal. While parents Hank and Barb enjoy their time away from superhero duties, their children Billy and Nora seek to fit in at high school. Meanwhile, Max and Phoebe are determined to reclaim their superhero identities, leading to amusing and heartfelt moments.
As the plot unfolds, the children of the villains, including Dark Mayhem Jr. and She-Crab, plan to release a dangerous element from the Power Plant that could harm the citizens of Metroburg. The Thundermans must unite and come up with creative solutions to stop the villains while navigating personal challenges and family dynamics.
The film promises to deliver plenty of laughs, exciting action sequences, and family bonding moments that fans of the original series will appreciate. It also hints at future developments, with a sequel series, titled The Thundermans: Undercover, already planned to follow the film's release.
With a runtime of 70 minutes, The Thundermans Return showcases the charm and humor that made the original series a hit while introducing new adventures for the beloved characters. The film will be available on Nickelodeon and can also be streamed on Paramount+.
Fans can look forward to an official soundtrack set to release on 15 March 2024, featuring music composed by Caleb Chan and Brian Chan.
In short, the Thundermans are back, and they are ready to entertain audiences with their superhero antics and family fun in The Thundermans Return.
