Bill Istvan Günther Skarsgård was born on 9 August 1990 in Vällingby, Stockholm, Sweden. He is a well-known Swedish actor famous for his role as Pennywise in the horror films It (2017) and It Chapter Two (2019). His acting skills have also been showcased in various other horror productions, including the series Hemlock Grove (2013–2015) and Castle Rock (2018–2019), as well as films like Barbarian (2022) and the upcoming Nosferatu (2024).

Career

Skarsgård began his career at a young age, earning a nomination for a Guldbagge Award for his leading role in Simple Simon. By 2012, he was recognized with the Shooting Stars Award from the European Film Academy.

His major breakthrough came in 2017 when he portrayed Pennywise in It. Director Andy Muschietti praised Skarsgård's transformative acting abilities, noting his capacity to shift from charming to menacing in an instant.
