He began his acting journey with a role in the television series Opposite Sex in 2000. Following that, he appeared in several teen movies, including the popular Not Another Teen Movie in 2001. His breakout performance came when he portrayed the Marvel Comics character, the Human Torch, in Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007).
