Information on Nicole Wallace

Nicolle Wallace, born Nicolle Devenish on February 4, 1972, is a prominent American television host, political commentator, and author. She currently anchors the MSNBC program Deadline: White House and has previously co-hosted the daytime talk show The View on ABC. Wallace is recognized for her insightful analysis and commentary on political matters, serving as a political analyst for both MSNBC and NBC News.

Wallace's path to fame began in politics. She served as the White House Communications Director during the second term of President George W. Bush's administration and was the Communications Director for his 2004 re-election campaign. Additionally, she was a senior advisor for John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign. Beyond her political career, Wallace has authored several contemporary political novels, including Eighteen Acres, It's Classified, and Madam President.

Born in Orange County, California, Wallace is the daughter of Veronica and Clive Devenish. She grew up in Orinda, a suburb of the San Francisco Bay Area, alongside her three younger siblings. Her mother worked as a teacher's assistant, while her father was an antiques dealer. Wallace has also mentioned that she has Greek ancestry.

She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in mass communications in 1994 and went on to earn a Master of Science degree from Northwestern University in 1996.

Wallace's career in politics began when she worked with California Assemblyman Scott Baugh. In 1999, she transitioned to Florida to serve as press secretary for Governor Jeb Bush. She was also involved in the 2000 Florida election recount, which garnered national attention.

In 2005, Wallace was appointed as the White House Communications Director. Her role was to enhance the relationship between the White House and the media, which had become strained. She was known for her persuasive communication style and was seen as a voice for increased openness with reporters.

Following her time in the White House, Wallace became a senior advisor for the John McCain 2008 presidential campaign. During this period, she frequently appeared on news channels, defending the campaign and addressing internal conflicts, particularly regarding vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

Wallace's novels have received critical acclaim, with Eighteen Acres published in 2010 exploring the lives of three powerful women in the White House. The sequel, It's Classified, was released in 2011, followed by Madam President in 2015.

In 2014, she joined The View as a co-host but left after one season. Subsequently, she became a political analyst for MSNBC, where her show Deadline: White House debuted in 2017. The program achieved significant viewership, reaching over two million viewers in July 2020.

Wallace has been married twice. She married businessman and lawyer Mark Wallace in 2005, and they had a son in 2011. The couple divorced in 2019. In 2022, she married journalist Michael S. Schmidt, and in November 2023, they welcomed a daughter via a surrogate.

Throughout her career, Wallace has become a respected voice in political commentary and continues to engage audiences with her insights on current events.
