Sofia Boutella, born on 3 April 1982, is an accomplished actress, dancer, and model from Algeria. She was born in the district of Bab El Oued in Algiers, where she grew up in a creative and supportive family that valued artistic expression. Her father, Safy Boutella, is a jazz musician, and her mother is an architect. At the age of 10, Sofia's family moved to Paris, France, amidst the Algerian Civil War.
Following the relocation, Sofia began her journey in the arts. She started taking classical dance lessons at just five years old. Slightly later, she became interested in rhythmic gymnastics and joined the French national team at 18.
