Mark Sinclair, born on 18 July 1967 in Alameda County, California, is better known by his stage name, Vin Diesel. He is a prominent American actor and film producer who has established himself as one of the highest-grossing actors worldwide. Diesel is best recognized for his role as Dominic Toretto in the globally successful Fast & Furious franchise.

Growing up in California, Diesel moved to New York City with his fraternal twin brother, Paul, at a young age. His mother, Delora Sherleen Vincent, who worked as an astrologer, raised him alongside his adoptive father, Irving H. Vincent, an acting coach and theater manager. Diesel describes his ethnic background as "ambiguous," acknowledging his family ties to various cultures, including Scottish roots from his mother's side. He has never met his biological father and has often spoken about the complexities of his family history.

Diesel's journey in the entertainment industry began at seven when he made his stage debut in the children's play Dinosaur Door. He attended NYC's Hunter College, where his passion for creative writing transitioned into screenwriting.
